Dispatch - unloading

The first stage involves unloading the wagons or lorries.

The textiles are delivered to Evadam in lorries or wagons. The first stage of the sorting process is unloading the textile loads. Down duvets and cushions and shoes are separated at this point.

3-4 loads are unloaded every day, which adds up to around 60 tons a day. The textiles are unloaded into cages which are then emptied onto a conveyor belt by a forklift truck. Evadam has 2 conveyor belts which lead to 2 different sorting lines in the production hall.

All incoming goods are labelled and scanned by load. Details such as the origin, weight and price per kilo of the goods are automatically recorded in the system in this way.
